CONTEMPORARY DANCE ASSOCIATION (CDA)
- a non-governmental organisation, founded in 1996 by the
contemporary dance students, teachers and dancers IN Bratislava, Slovakia
- working in the field of contemporary dance, physical theatre and performing
arts
- the membership is based mainly on the interest in contemporary dance, physical
theatre and performing arts, on the will to help the improvement of the situation
and the position of the mentioned art genres in Slovakia
MISSION STATEMENT
- to contribute to the improvement process of the conditions of the Slovak contemporary
dance, physical theatre and performing art, by associating the independent dancers
/ choreographers / pedagogues / persons interested in mentioned art fields -
via a closer communication and definition of the common interests.
MAIN CDA COLLABORATORS:
ˇ Particularly the projects made under the legal subject of CDA are provided
by the members, so we can not speak about collaborators in this sense. In some
cases, students of the Academy for Performing Arts are helping - mainly because
of personal relations, friendship, professional interests. All of them are volunteers.
ˇ Since January 2002: two volunteers working in the PR and sponsoring areas
(payed under a project based contract), one part time project manager - dancer
(payed under a project base contract).
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ENVIRONMENT
Institutions / organisations:
- Ministery of Culture
- CCA Fundation
- Academy of Perfoming Arts
- French Institute
- CULTUS - culture house Ružinov (DKR)
- Primary Art School in Liptovsky Mikulas
- Municipality administration - Old Tow, Bratislava
Privat supporters:

TARGET GROUPS:
- we are addressing especially the younger generation (students of universities
and high schools) - the relationship is first of all personal, then via publicity
(posters, flyers). In a small "scale", we personally communicated
with the teachers of the esthetics at the high schools (invitations, materials),
but it was not efficiant.
- relationship with the artists from the other art genres depends again on personal
contacts - it is particuralarly based on the cooperation in concret projects
(fine artists, musiciens,
)
